Our goal, as a prescription benefit management company, is to develop and deliver a clinically sound, cost-effective, and operationally-efficient prescription benefit program for our clients. We specialize in small-to-medium sized employers and health plans, including Medicaid plans and long-term care facilities.
We believe our success in this business is attributable to five key components: 1) Client Care; 2) Clinical Oversight; 3) Technology Tools; 4) Management Information and 5) Patient Care.
The attention we provide our customers goes well beyond "service". We call it "Client Care". Each Account Manager provides excellent service through ongoing communications and fostering close relationships with our clients. Our detailed approach to: eligibility issues, accurate and timely member I.D. cards, and patient service at the point-of-sale, distinguishes United Drugs as the PBM of choice. Think of your Account Manager as your business' personal advocate - dedicated to delivering your prescription benefit - smoothly and efficiently.
Delivering the right drugs to the right people is a clinical equation which requires the application of sound protocols and expertise. While this equation relies heavily on the prescriber, practical intervention, experience and retrospective monitoring can have a significant impact on the outcome. Using industry standards and customized disease management protocols, United Drugs' Clinical Team helps keep this complex equation in balance.
Any claims processor can offer you adjudication technology to assure that your prescription claims are properly authorized and edited for price, drug interactions, dosage, days supply, etc. We do that, and more. Our Technology Tools utilize the information available in your prescription history to predict future trends, monitor prescribing patterns, and analyze drug utilization. United Drugs provides decision support tools to help clients meet their prescription benefit goals. Our state-of-the-art data warehouse and executive information systems are available to you at your site any time.
We offer hundreds of reports that you can use to manage your prescription benefit. However, we do not measure our worth by the weight of paper that we deliver to you each month. You and your Account Manager will decide and customize which reports make sense for your business. We can issue your reports on CD-ROM or via the internet. Our goal is to get the most meaningful information to you as quickly as possible.
In addition to standard reports, your Account Manager will prepare account reviews, which encompass a thorough analysis of your business; including comparisons to industry standards. Most accounts also receive semi-annual, on-site business reviews. At these forward-looking meetings, we also measure our progress against mutually established goals for your program.
We never lose sight that this entire process comes down to an individual receiving a prescription from a health professional - their local pharmacist. Every United Drugs and subcontracted pharmacy must agree to participate in our quality assurance program, patterned after NCQA criteria, before they are allowed to dispense prescriptions as a United Drugs provider.
